Privacy and your data
Pavilion is a free, fan-made cricket game, made in New Zealand. It isn't linked to any cricket team, board or player. We never ask for your name, email, phone number or age, and we keep as little as we can.
Children
Pavilion is for cricket fans, and we know kids play. Kids: make up your nickname. Never use your real name, school or age. Nobody can message you here. If a name on a board looks wrong, tap it, tap Report, and tell a grown-up. Parents: you can delete your child's Pavilion data with the button below on their device, or email us their nickname and we'll remove it.
What we keep
- A random code made on your phone the first time you play. It isn't your name, email, phone number or Roblox account.
- Your innings: runs, balls, wickets and how each ball went, including how early or late you swung and when you tapped RUN, with the time you played. This makes the boards and helps us make the game fairer.
- Rough details: the country your connection comes from, whether you play on a phone, tablet or computer, which kind of browser (for example "Chrome on Android"), and which link brought you to the game (for example a post on Instagram).
- How the game ran on your device: the kind of graphics chip, roughly how much memory, how smoothly it ran and which graphics setting it used. This tells us which phones need help.
- Your nickname, if you pick one, and which clubhouses you're in. Your nickname shows on public boards. Nicknames are checked for rude words and contact details, anyone can report one, and Pavilion can remove any nickname. Clubhouse creators can remove members.
- Visits: when you open the game, face a ball, finish an innings, share a result or come back another day. This shows us where the game is confusing.
- Crash reports: when something breaks, a short technical note: what went wrong, which version of the game, which kind of device.
- A private player link, if you make one: a code that brings your nickname and clubhouses to another phone. Keep it to yourself.
- Reports: if you report a nickname, the nickname you reported and when.
On your phone
The game saves a few things in your browser so it remembers you: your random code, nickname, clubhouses, settings and best scores. There are no cookies for ads.
What we never keep
- No real names, emails, phone numbers, photos or exact location. We never ask for them.
- No internet addresses. To slow down spam, the game briefly counts requests using a scrambled tag that changes every day.
- No chat and no messages. Nobody can message you through Pavilion.
- No advertising trackers and no cookies for ads.
- Nothing to buy, and no betting or prizes.
Who sees what
Boards show each player's place, result and nickname (for example “3rd · Captain Kiwi · 19 balls”). Players without a nickname show as “Mystery batter”. Boards never show your code or where you are. A clubhouse's board shows its members' nicknames to anyone with that clubhouse's link. The world club board shows club names, added by Pavilion only when a club asks. Only the Pavilion team sees everything else, and we never sell or share it.
Where it's kept
Pavilion runs on Cloudflare, which stores the game's data for us on its servers around the world. We also keep a backup copy of the game's statistics on our own computer, with every player's code replaced by a scrambled tag.
Fair play
Every match-night result is checked ball by ball before it goes on a board. Results that look impossible may be held back or removed.
How long we keep it
- Innings and visits: deleted automatically after about 13 months, from the backup copy too.
- Crash reports: 30 days.
- Spam counters: a day at most.
- Your nickname, board results, clubhouses and reports: until you delete your data, or we remove them.
Delete my Pavilion data
This deletes every innings, board result, nickname, clubhouse membership, visit and crash report saved for this phone or computer, and starts you fresh. Clubhouses you started stay open for their other members. It can't be undone.
