A comic from Pavilion
Gully is eleven. He was born in Albany, Texas — a town of two thousand people, about as far from the sea as Texas gets.
Then he got a globe for his birthday. He spins it, closes his eyes, points — and goes wherever his finger lands. He packs a bat and a ball, in case he meets somebody who wants to play.
The series
A globe, a boat on the Ganges, a new friend, and a game taught in a garden nobody can find. Ten panels.

Who's in it
The traveller
A young seagull with a scruffy brown cowlick and a blue hoodie. Curious, polite, and permanently astonished by everything.
The globe is what takes him past the horizon, and he goes by whatever gets him there — a boat, a train, a long walk.
The constant
However far Gully travels, Willow is already standing there when he arrives. Same navy cap, worn slightly askew. Always, quietly, chewing.
Willow has never said a word, and has never needed to.
Kolkata
Eleven years old, quick and generous, and the first friend Gully makes on the road.
He gives Gully a garland of flowers and takes him to a village you can only enter if you love them.
Every episode starts the same way: a spin of the globe and a finger landing somewhere new. Tell us where he should land, and we'll take him there. hello@pavilioncc.com.
Why it exists
A story reaches one who doesn't know they do yet.
Pavilion is a cricket game, and cricket is how Gully starts conversations — he arrives somewhere, pulls a bat out of a bag, and a game breaks out in the street. But the comic isn't really about cricket. It's about the thing underneath: somewhere else is full of people you would like, and playing is how you find that out.
Episodes are made one at a time, alongside the game, and published when they are ready rather than to a schedule.
